Search Entries
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Halifax County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy notice and terms govern its handling of the query and any account or payment information submitted there.
Messages
If you email us or use an available contact form, the message and return details may be kept long enough to respond and manage the exchange. We do not share a private message outside the organization unless it is needed to provide the response or disclosure is required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Ordinary web systems, analytics tools, and service providers may record limited technical information when a page loads. That information can include:

Halifax County Released Inmates links to BRRJA, the Halifax County Sheriff, Virginia courts, VADOC, federal locators, release-record resources, and third-party search providers. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination's privacy policy governs the visit. We do not control its collection, storage, security, or deletion practices.
Advertising partners may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That processing occurs through their systems, not through a records database maintained by this site.
Parties Receiving Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may still be handled by:
- Search partners that process a submitted query.
- Analytics vendors that measure site use.

We use standard safeguards suited to the information and services involved. No connected service, transmission method, or storage system is fully secure. Halifax County Released Inmates cannot promise that a breach, interception, or unauthorized access will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted personal data, use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.

Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data we hold.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Delete information that no longer must be retained.

These choices apply to data controlled by this site. Requests about an official Virginia record or a third-party search service must go to that record custodian or provider. Virginia FOIA governs access to government records, not private-site visitor data.
